Cork Shot Out From a Bottle of Champagne
New Year’s is  pretty over-rated, right?!
I am fairly certain that my best New Year’s Eve celebration has already come and gone when many a moons ago  my best friend Kim and I drove a tiny red convertible to Florida to celebrate with friends at Universal City Walk. We joined our friends, dancing outside in gowns while fireworks went off in the sky and strangers kissed our cheeks, brushing away our confetti littered hair. We had the kind of drunken and light hearted debauchery one can have without a mortgage or a family. We laughed and sang and worn crowns. We told everyone we were the Princesses of the Islas Canarias.
And they believed us.

Even though THE New Years cannot be topped I am excited about our plans for this year-Hanging out with my dearest of friends and their husbands over good food and wine, staying the night in a swanky hotel in the city, and rounding it out the next day with great couple friends, their kids, and ours, and a quiet moment stolen alone to take a minute to Thank God for 2012 and ask for his blessings in 2013.

Cheers my friends! Happiest of New Years to you!

And guess what? This Holiday Sparkler is less than 80 calories—Another reason to celebrate J

Here’s What You Need: (Per cocktail)
½ cup of champagne, cava, or prosecco*
¼-1/2 cup of lime flavored sparkling water (I like La Croix)
A handful of pomegranate seeds (I love the ready to go ones from POM)

Here’s What You Do:
Add the champagne or equivalent, splash in the sparkling water and then add the pomegranate seeds. Lift up your glass and say, “Cheers!”

*Prosecco is the Italian version of champagne Cava is it’s Spanish equivalent. Often times, you can find a more affordable good option with these than champagne.

Kid Tip:

Skip the champagne and this sparkly, fun drink is 100% kid friendly
